Loon Rising

I enjoyed watching this loon make his wild cry and then it would rise up out of the water. Sometimes he would half-swim-half-fly across the water top prior to rising up, sometimes he’d just rise up from below the surface. I spent a serious amount of time out on the lake trying to get this shot from the front. Whenever I’d get in front of this bird, it would maneuver around so that it was facing away from me. Lesson learned? Sometimes you settle for what you’re given…
